In welded bonnet designs, the bonnet is threaded and torqued to a precise engineered value, with the body-to-bonnet joint further secured by a strength weld, providing dual protection against leakage through both threaded and welded connections. A fully guided wedge minimizes wear on seating surfaces. Optional features include double packing, a leak-off connection, live-loading, and a packing blowout design for easy maintenance and removal of old packing.
