For welded bonnet valves, the bonnet is threaded in and torqued to an engineered torque value, and the body-bonnet joint is strength-welded, offering dual protection against leakage through the combination of body, bonnet threads, and strength-weld. The fully guided wedge design reduces wear on seating surfaces. Additionally, an optional design is available with double packing, a leak-off connection, live-loading, and a packing blowout feature, which facilitates the easy removal of old packing.
