Graphited PTFE Valve Packing Features
The packing integrates the exceptional properties of two superior gland packing fibers: Graphite PTFE and Kevlar.
Graphite PTFE offers the best combination of features for packing fibers, but may extrude or deteriorate under high mechanical loads.
The addition of Kevlar enhances the packing's strength, similar to steel.
Kevlar fibers are square inter-braided to add strength where it is most needed, particularly at the corner-posts.
Kevlar fibers are specially braided from the core to the corner-posts for dimensional stability and to resist extrusion.
Graphite PTFE yarns are braided onto the packing surfaces to improve smooth operation and sealing capability.
